Wholesale memory prices have been very volatile over the last year due to the wind down of 72 pin simm production in factories Worldwide, the 1999 Tiawianese earthquake and exchange rate variations.

In addition as PC bus speeds continue to spiral and - memory makers change the specifications of their chips to suit - it has been increasingly difficult to get hold of simm modules which work properly and reliably in Amiga accelerators. We have to reject well over half of the memory simms which we get offered, and individually test all simms we buy with Amiga accelerators before shipping. This does mean our simms tend to be a bit more expensive than the average PC 'pile-them-high-sell-them-cheap' dealer - but as at the ones we supply are guaranteed to work with Amigas it usually works out cheaper - and certainly more hassle-free - in the end.

To try to encourage our accelerator customers to purchase trouble-free simms to use with the Amiga accelerators we supply (and thus keep our accelerator support costs down) we are currently offering a 20% reduction on retail prices of simms when purchased from us at the same time as an accelerator.

However memory prices continue to remain volatile so please check our web price pages and/or the sales enquiry line (01642-713185) for latest prices before ordering. Although prices have recently stabilised suitable new Amiga-compatible memory is now very hard to find - so if you are considering purchasing some more memory for your Amiga now is the time to do so.
